If you declare Joint Degree status by November 30 of your first year for an Environmental Masters (MCEP, MERL, MFALP, or MAPP), you may enroll in Environmental Law in the spring semester of your first year in lieu of the Criminal Law section in which you are already enrolled. Instead, you will take Criminal Law in the fall of your 2L year. Joint JD and Master of Arts in Restorative Justice students will take Criminal Law as regularly scheduled in the spring semester of the first year.

If you want to take Environmental Law in the spring semester of your first year as a joint JD and Environmental Masters student, please notify the Registrar's Office by email to registrar@vermontlaw.edu by November 30.

Joint JD/LLM candidates must have a cumulative JD GPA of 3.0 at the end of their fifth semester to be eligible to pursue the LLM degree. If a student has been on academic probation at any time as a JD student, they must petition the Committee on Standards for permission to pursue the LLM degree.

By completing and returning this form, you are hereby enrolling in the joint degree program. By this action, you are committing to meet the academic requirements of both degrees and to pay additional tuition. The master's and LLM program tuition is billed based upon registration at a per credit rate. Tuition is billed at the prevailing credit rate at the time of registration. Our master's and LLM degrees require different numbers of credits. Some joint degree students will need to pay for 21 master's or LLM credits; others will need to pay for 22 master's credits.
