Master's Course Transfer Request Form

This form is for JD students who want to transfer credits from the Master of Arts in Restorative Justice (MARJ), Master of Climate and Environmental Policy (MCEP), Master of Energy Regulation and Law (MERL), or Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree to the JD degree.

Courses for transfer must be approved for JD credit, they must have received a grade of C or better, and they must have been completed within two years of matriculation in the JD program. The credits from these courses will count toward the JD degree, but the grade will not count toward the JD GPA.

Students in the MARJ program may transfer a maximum of 9 credits. Students in the MCEP and MERL programs may transfer a maximum of 12 credits. Students in the MPP program who matriculated before May 1, 2025, may transfer a max of 14 credits. Students in the MPP program who matriculated after May 1, 2025, may transfer a maximum of 18 credits.

Transferring credits will not shorten a student's time in the JD program. Residential JD students must complete 6 residency semesters of at least 10 credits each. Online Hybrid JD students must complete 10 semesters of at least 6 credit each.
